The NASCAR Hall of Fame was designated to be built in Charlotte, North Carolina on March 6, 2006 and groundbreaking began in 2007. It is projected to be opened for visitors in 2010. Bobby Isaac

And Charlotte was the residence of the 1st premier NASCAR race in 1949. That is why they say racing began in Charlotte and must stay in Charlotte.
